Max Holloway and the UFC team up with HomeAid Hawaiʻi to Support Maui’s Recovery

UFC is known globally for its elite competition, but its influence extends beyond the Octagon through meaningful community support. Following the devastating Maui wildfires, the organization played a role in helping rebuild lives across the island, an effort closely tied to Hawaiian-born champion Max Holloway. For Holloway, this initiative is personal. Raised in Hawaiʻi, he has remained deeply connected to his community, using his platform to support those affected and bring attention to local recovery efforts.

Contribution

UFC contributed $1.2 million to HomeAid Hawaiʻi as part of the Maui Housing Initiative. This funding helped advance key projects including Ka La‘i Ola, now the island’s largest temporary housing development for wildfire survivors, and Kīpūola Kauhale, Maui’s first kauhale-style village.
Max also led a nationwide fundraising campaign through Alltroo, giving fans the chance to meet him at UFC 318 while contributing to the cause.

Impact

The funding supported not just housing, but the creation of spaces designed for long-term wellbeing, including shared community areas, a playground, and fitness facilities. Ka La‘i Ola is expected to accommodate up to 1,500 displaced residents, making it one of the largest modular housing communities in the country.

Since opening in December 2025, Kīpūola Kauhale has begun welcoming residents, offering a pathway from homelessness into stable living, alongside access to job support and community resources.
